Platinum sponsorship reflects growing reach of re-branded awards scheme

Leading utility and infrastructure company Network Plus today reaffirms its commitment to recognising the industry’s unsung heroes by becoming the principal sponsors of this year’s Heroes Awards.

Formerly known as Highways Heroes due to its origins in the highways industry, the rebrand reflects the broader reach the awards now have.

And the groundbreaking arrangement with Network Plus also sees Go Traffic

Management (GTM) and Littlewood Group become gold sponsors of the event. All three businesses are coming together to help shine a light on those who go above and beyond during the course of their work.

The awards ceremony itself will be held at London’s Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, on 26 November.

Kevin Fowlie, Network Plus Chief Executive, says:

“We are thrilled to be supporting the awards and very much looking forward to what is one of the highlights of our business’s calendar.

“I’m also pleased to see the awards re-branded in recognition of the fact that our heroes come not only from the highways industry itself, but from across the utilities and infrastructure industries too.”

Alicia Hibberts, Heroes’ Operations Director, adds:

“Over the five years since we founded the Heroes Awards we have heard so many heart-warming stories from across the sector and the event has become something which people active seek out as an event they truly want to be a part of.

“Moving to a wider sector scope was something which, if I am honest, like everything with the Heroes has been evolutionary and driven by industry; but in truth makes absolute sense.

“Having the unequivocal support of Network Plus throughout that decision making process and the ability to sense-check our ambitions against industry sentiment is one of the key factors why this partnership made absolute sense.

“I look forward to growing what is a burgeoning relationship and between both our organisations, creating a legacy and ensuring that we create a culture where recognising outstanding work and acts of human kindness is the right thing to do by all organisations.”

The Heroes Awards recognise those who go above and beyond to help someone or to improve a situation, whether it be saving someone from danger or preventing injury, or something less dramatic but no less critical in making working lives safer.
