Time is running out to shine a spotlight on the people who make a real difference.
With nominations for the 2026 Heroes Awards closing on 19 June, organisers are urging businesses, colleagues, friends and communities to submit their entries before the deadline passes.
The awards celebrate individuals whose actions have gone above and beyond, whether through acts of bravery, exceptional leadership, kindness, selflessness or unwavering support for others.
From helping a colleague through difficult circumstances to stepping forward in a crisis or making a lasting impact within their community, the Heroes Awards exist to recognise those whose contributions often go unnoticed.
Unlike many awards programmes, there are no fixed categories, ensuring every story has the opportunity to be considered on its own merits.
The countdown comes as organisers prepare for this year's ceremony, which will take place on 1 December 2026 at the Chancery Rosewood in London. Finalists, industry leaders and guests will come together to celebrate extraordinary people whose actions have made a meaningful difference to those around them.
An independent judging panel, chaired by Carnell Engineering Director and Heroes Awards host Rich Marshall, will select this year's winners.
Marshall said there are countless inspiring stories waiting to be told.
“The Heroes Awards are about recognising people who put others first, often without ever expecting acknowledgement. Across our industries and communities, there are countless stories of courage, kindness and leadership that deserve to be celebrated.
“With just two weeks left until nominations close, we encourage everyone to nominate someone who has made a genuine difference.”
Businesses and organisations are also being encouraged to spread the word internally by displaying promotional materials in offices, depots, welfare facilities and communal areas to help ensure deserving individuals are not overlooked.
Anyone can submit a nomination, whether they have personally witnessed an act of bravery, benefited from someone's support or simply want to recognise an individual who has had a positive impact on others.
Supporting evidence such as testimonials, photographs and video footage can also be included as part of the submission process.
Heroes Awards Operations Director Alicia Hibberts said recognition can have a powerful and lasting effect.
“The Heroes Awards exist to recognise the extraordinary actions carried out by ordinary people every day. Being recognised can have a lasting impact and reminds people just how valued they are.
“We encourage individuals and organisations to make sure deserving nominees are put forward before the deadline.”
With only days remaining before nominations close, organisers are warning against leaving submissions until the last minute.
For many unsung heroes, this could be their chance to receive the recognition they truly deserve.
