Heroes Awards Nominations Close Following Record-Breaking Response

Nominations for the 2026 Heroes Awards have officially closed following a record-breaking response that saw hundreds of entries submitted from across the UK.

Organisers confirmed that nominations closed at 5pm after a final extension was granted in response to overwhelming demand from individuals, businesses and organisations seeking to recognise people whose actions have made a meaningful difference to others.

The extension followed an unprecedented volume of nominations received before the original deadline, making this year's programme the most successful in the awards' history. While organisers had initially planned to strictly enforce the closing date of June 19, they received a significant number of requests from people who had been unable to complete submissions before the portal closed.

In response, nominations were reopened for a limited period, giving supporters one final opportunity to ensure outstanding individuals were recognised.

The Heroes Awards celebrate people whose actions have had a positive impact on others, whether through exceptional leadership, selflessness, bravery, compassion or dedication to supporting colleagues, communities and those in need.

Unlike traditional awards programmes, the Heroes Awards do not operate within fixed categories. Instead, every nomination is judged on the strength of the individual's story and the difference they have made in the lives of others.

Rich Marshall, Engineering Director at Carnell and Chair of the Independent Judging Panel, said the response had exceeded expectations.

"The response this year has been incredible and we've received a huge number of inspiring nominations," he said.

"Since the portal originally closed, we heard from many people who were unable to meet the deadline but had important stories they wanted to share. We felt it was only right to provide one final opportunity to ensure those individuals were not missed.

"The volume and quality of nominations we have received demonstrates just how many remarkable people are making a positive difference every day. The judging panel now faces the difficult task of selecting finalists from what is undoubtedly the strongest field of nominations we have ever seen."

Heroes Awards Operations Director Alicia Hibberts said the record number of nominations reflects the importance of recognising people who rarely seek acknowledgement for their actions.

"Many of the people nominated for a Heroes Award never expect recognition for what they do," she said.

"The awards exist to celebrate those extraordinary actions and remind people how much they are valued. The response we have seen this year has been truly inspiring and demonstrates how many people are quietly making a difference in workplaces, communities and the lives of others."

Anyone can submit a Heroes Awards nomination, whether recognising a colleague, friend, family member or someone whose actions have had a positive impact on others. This year's nominations included supporting testimonials, photographs and video evidence highlighting acts of courage, kindness, leadership and service.

Attention now turns to the judging process ahead of the 2026 Heroes Awards ceremony, which will take place on 30th November at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Finalists, industry leaders and invited guests will come together to celebrate individuals whose actions have gone above and beyond expectations and whose stories serve as a reminder of the extraordinary difference one person can make.

With nominations now closed and a record number of entries received, organisers say the 2026 Heroes Awards is set to be the biggest and most inspiring celebration of unsung heroes since the programme began.
