Heroes Nominations Extended… But Only Until 5pm Today

Organisers of the 2026 Heroes Awards have announced a final extension to nominations, giving supporters until 5pm today to submit their entries.

The decision follows an overwhelming response to this year's awards programme, which saw hundreds of nominations submitted before the original deadline. Organisers had initially planned to strictly enforce the closing date of 5pm on Friday, June 19, and the nominations portal was closed as scheduled.

However, since the deadline passed, the Heroes Awards team has received a significant number of emails from individuals, businesses and organisations explaining they had been unable to complete or submit nominations before the cut-off.

In response to those requests, organisers have agreed to reopen nominations for a limited period, providing one final opportunity for outstanding individuals to be recognised.

The Heroes Awards celebrate people whose actions have made a meaningful difference to others, whether through exceptional leadership, selflessness, bravery, compassion or dedication to supporting colleagues, communities and those in need.

Unlike traditional awards programmes, the Heroes Awards do not operate within fixed categories. Instead, every nomination is assessed on the strength of the individual's story and the impact they have had on the lives of others.

The extension comes as preparations continue for the 2026 Heroes Awards ceremony, which will take place on 30th November at the London Hilton on Park Lane. The event will bring together finalists, industry leaders and guests to honour people whose actions have gone above and beyond expectations.

Entries will be reviewed by an independent judging panel chaired by Carnell Engineering Director and Heroes Awards host Rich Marshall.

Marshall said the volume and quality of nominations received so far has been exceptional, highlighting the number of remarkable individuals making a positive difference every day.

"The response this year has been incredible and we've received a huge number of inspiring nominations. Since the portal closed, we've also heard from many people who were unable to meet the deadline but had important stories they wanted to share.

"We felt it was only right to provide one final opportunity to ensure those individuals are not missed. However, this extension is strictly until 5pm today and no further extensions will be possible."

Heroes Awards Operations Director Alicia Hibberts said recognition can have a lasting impact on those who quietly make a difference without seeking acknowledgement.

"Many of the people nominated for a Heroes Award never expect recognition for what they do. The awards exist to celebrate those extraordinary actions and remind people how much they are valued.

"If you've been meaning to submit a nomination and missed the deadline, this is your final opportunity."

Anyone can submit a nomination, whether they are recognising a colleague, friend, family member or someone whose actions have had a positive impact on others. Supporting information, including testimonials, photographs and video evidence, can also be included.

Organisers have stressed that nominations will close at 5pm today and the portal will not be reopened again.

For many unsung heroes, this could be the last chance to ensure their story is heard and their contribution recognised.
