John McCann, Managing Director of McCann, has been working in the Highways industry for his entire career. He began his career with McCann straight from school, starting on-site as a labourer. Over time, he gained hands-on experience across every area of the business, building a deep understanding of its operations from the ground up. He progressed into project management and later commercial leadership before taking over the company in 1996 from his father, John McCann Senior.

Under John’s leadership, McCann has grown significantly into a leading civil and electrical engineering construction company, delivering major road and infrastructure projects across the UK. Today, the company plays a key role in developing and maintaining essential elements of the UK’s infrastructure, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and customer focus.
